Terms & Conditions

1. About These Terms
These terms govern your use of this website and form the basis of any enquiry made through it. Where you engage Gildergreen Tree Surgery for tree work, a separate written quotation will set out the specific scope, price and timeline.
2. Website Use
You may browse this site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, scrape or republish any content, imagery or design without our prior written consent.
3. Quotes & Estimates
All written quotes are valid for 30 days from issue unless otherwise stated. Quotes are based on the scope and site conditions observed at the time of the site visit; significant changes uncovered on the day (e.g. concealed decay, additional limbs identified as unsafe) will be priced and signed off before any additional work is carried out.
4. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the work. We accept bank transfer and cash; no deposits are required for standard domestic jobs. Stage payments may apply on larger or multi-day works, as set out in the written quote.
5. Site Access & Safety
You agree to provide safe and unobstructed access to the work area on the agreed date, including parking for our vehicles and chipper. For climbed or sectional work we require a clear drop zone — we will mark this out on the day. Pets, children and unrelated parties must be kept clear of the work area at all times.
6. Tree Preservation Orders & Conservation Areas
Where the trees concerned are subject to a TPO or sit within a Conservation Area, statutory consent must be in place before work begins. We can handle the council application on your behalf for a small fee, which is deducted from your bill if you go ahead with the work. The 6-week determination period sits with the council, not us.
7. Insurance
Gildergreen Tree Surgery is fully insured through Arborisk — £5m public liability and £10m employers' liability cover. Evidence of cover can be supplied on request prior to works commencing.
8. Cancellation
You may cancel a booked job up to 48 hours before the scheduled start without charge. Cancellations inside 48 hours may incur a mobilisation fee covering crew time already committed. Statutory consent fees already paid to the council remain payable.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gildergreen's total liability under any contract is limited to the contract value. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
